A former javelin-gunner, Alex served in the British Army from the age of 16 for five years until leaving the forces in 2016.Īrmed with a special set of skills, Alex believed he had the training and knowledge needed to destroy Russian tanks in Ukraine - and boarded a flight to Poland in June 2022.Īlex said: "I hated the fact they were targeting civilians like women and children. I don't think the Russians fighting for him quite understand what they're going to Ukraine to fight for.
